This event began with a tribute to archivist, dance writer and authority on Frederick Ashton, David Vaughan, followed by an introduction to Le Rossignol from Jane Pritchard (Curator of Dance at the V&A). A masterclass was then given by Anthony Dowell, with dancers William Bracewell and Anna Rose O’Sullivan (The Royal Ballet), along with Gary Avis and Lorraine Gregory. This event began with an introduction from Jane Pritchard (Curator of Dance at the V&A) with Monica Mason, followed by a showing of film footage of of Christopher Carr rehearsing the Spanish Dance. A masterclass was then given by Monica Mason: on the Spanish Dance from Swan Lake Act II, with dancers Mica Bradbury, Leticia Dias, Leo Dixon and Calvin Richardson (The Royal Ballet), and on the Fairy of Joy Solo from The Sleeping Beauty Prologue, with dancer Isabella Gasparini (The Royal Ballet). Each of these was followed by a Q&A, led by Jane Pritchard, with Monica Mason, the dancers and Lorraine Gregory.
